Devised theatre is a method for creating a show with a group of people, without a pre-existing script. Students will begin with improvisational exercises grounded in visual arts, poetry, music, and other artforms. From these roots in creative research, they will develop, write, and perform original pieces of theatre. Students will sharpen theatre-making and acting skills, and learn how to work quickly and imaginatively in response to prompts and projects. This class has a final performance for families and friends at 7 p.m. on Friday, July 10th. Instructor Bio: Clove Love is a Theatre Professional and Educator that works at various theatre companies all over the state of Colorado. Clove is thrilled to bring their Devised Theatre Class back to Miners Alley this Summer! Most recently, Clove was a Stage Manager for Shifted Lens and had a reading of their original play “stems.” with The Three Leaches. Clove is currently directing Matilda Jr. at Girls Athletic Leadership School, as well as serving their first year as Director of Performing Arts. --- Our Teen summer classes are for students who are currently in grades 6-12 as of May 2026. All teen classes will take place at Miners Alley Performing Arts Center, 1101 Miners Alley, in Golden. Families who register students for multiple teen classes will receive a multi-class discount.
